Finally, a full picture of Selph!
That's right, the lovely Maren in my avatar. This is the first picture I ever drew of him completely and in color, back in July 2005. It's also the only picture where I managed to draw his "horns" correctly. They're so hard!
Originally, this was drawn in colored pencil, but I fancied it up a bit on my computer to make it clearer.
I like how he came out very much-- I hope you do too!

A few notes on this lovely Maren, though... (there'll be more coming!)

Personality: Think of the most innocent, naive, trusting child you've met and apply that exact personality to a world-aware, mature teenager. That's Selph.
He has a (bad?) habit of being "brutally" honest with people, but only does so with good intentions. He is constantly afraid of offending others, and is probably one of the nicest, not to mention the most unorthodox, Nightmaren you'll meet. Overall he has a very sweet, candid demeanor.
Another huge aspect of Selph's personality is his constant optimism. He always seems to be crazy-excited over something, and is rarely ever seen without a smile.
You'll get to know him better over time, I'll be sure. I've got more art coming!

Appearance: Thanks to the edited nature of this picture, there are a few important details about Selph's appearance you may not be able to discern. First, see that gemstone on his chest? It's amber, and it's shattered. That's kind of obvious. Secondly, his vest is sapphire with a ruby trim. It's all red in the picture. The buttons are gold diamonds. Thirdly, his sleeves are metallic silver, and the rims on his head/ feet are pure gold metal. And lastly, he does NOT have wings. I drew them in to fill the space. But hey, they look nice! Plus-- for closer head details on my little lovely, check out the pics of him in my Scraps. They'll help immensely.
